In 1950, a group of people agreed “That a Baptist Fellowship be set up in Howick with monthly meetings in various homes”.

 

At the time, there was no Baptist church in the eastern suburbs beyond Remuera. 

 

Then on Sunday 7 October 1951, weekly services commenced in the Howick Town Hall.
